just for a size reference on that first blast...

with a sight/sound differential of 6.24 seconds, they were a little over .8 miles away

quick question - you seem like you're more than qualified to answer. lol

My friends and I had a sad attempt of doing our own fireworks last 4th of July - of course we bought them and there were NO instructions - just warnings about the dangers.

Anyway - most didn't leave the ground - later a friend told us we need to put them in some type of holder - they said a wine bottle would work. Any suggestions?

Last thing I want to do is blow something up (other than the firework), or lose a hand!

I need both to drive my 2010 Camaro 2SS 6 speed!

what kind of fireworks? if they are mortar shells then you need a launch tube in order to fire them out of as the lift charge will just explode outward. if they are bottle rockets, then you need something to set them in. if they are snakes and sparklers.... then you should be ok.

no. we do the $250,000.00 show every year for the kentucky derby tho. and we did a $300,000.00 show for the city of Charleston for the Ravenel Jr bridge opening. there's a few clips of it on youtube. ive got the full vid at my house. but its like an hour or 2 long cus it has the build up and whatnot.

the bridge is over a mile long... and it was laced with explosives. along with 8 barges and some stuff hanging from the bridge and stuff up on the towers.

I used to love going to the river front in Cincinnati for the WEBN fireworks. I think they shoot them off a couple of bridges and about 3 barges and lasts about 45min to an hr. Do you have yours set up to music? I'm pretty sure you do. Sounds like a lot more dangerous job than I would like to have but a very rewarding one IF everything goes off right.

sooo... no video of the show or is that to come ?
Setup of fireworks is nice... but the real money shot is the actual explosions.

we usually shoot to music. we also do electronic firing where everything is wired into a board and we set it off from a distance or by remote. depends on the size of the show and who it is for and how much they are paying. lol

I did a $5000.00 show a few months back for 9 people on Cherokee plantation. (buncha rich fookers there...) with no music. and it only lasted 7 minutes.

no video... I was busy hand lighting them to hold a camera. tho now that you mention it, I am going to have to look into getting a helmet mounted camera so I can video tape the actual process. I do have some shots of the show itself, but I dont have them here at work.
