Camaro 6 Website

http://www.chevrolet.com/2016-camaro/

I have to say I think it's stunning. The Mustang and Challenger are now miles behind.

Cheers

Here we go then;

1. Despite all the hype it's just a makeover.
2. Lines aren't as clean as the 5, too fussy. Less is more.
3. Dare I say a bit Japanese of old.

That should get the comments flying in.

G'morn Bluey - I had a good look on Chevy website. It's growing on me. I like the SS front end, I like the interior - I wonder if the four-pot is in readiness for a left hand steer variant.... As you say, Dodge gotta work hard now and the new Mustang now looks a step or two behind this. I personally think they've done a tidy job of it - it's maybe a bit too 'europeanised' but that's only my ten pennyworth (ain't saving up for one - love my Gen 5 too much for that) Cheers, Ed

Rick, I have to agree on point 1. It is an update of C5.

Cheers

You never release ALL of your good stuff right off the bat. You gradually release new models each year, 2017 Convertible, 2018 Z/28, 2019 ZL1, ect.... This way you keep interest in the vehicle each year.

The body is almost BRZ looking to me... it lost its sharp character it gained in the 5th Gen. I do like the interior as its leaps above the 5th Gen, but thats not a car I would look over my shoulder at as I put her away for the night, and if you dont do that then youve bought the wrong car.

+1 on all counts - BRZ influence shows. Yep, the over-the-shoulder look after I've garaged it, I do that too!

I like it but agreed it is more of a 5.5 gen rather than a 6th

I'm sure they where saying it was going to be quite a bit smaller than the 5th gen, though haven't seen it mentioned since release

I do like it, a lot, a little bit more aggressive looking if you ask me however I do agree with what is said before, its just a face-lift not what I would call a new generation.

Not sure about a 2ltr turbo though.

I think it will grow on me. I like the gen 5's retro looks, this new car has a hint of corvette stingray in it, which I like. I'll reserve proper judgement until the top spec models are released as they may look better.

I hope they have trouble shifting any 4-pots. Muscle cars should not have small turbo engines, it's sacrilege

Specs are easy to find. Shorter, narrower, lower and lighter. A completely new platform. This isn't a refresh or minor update, but a completely new car, ground up.

Mind you, you could all be being sarcastic

According to the official bumph, the only things carried over from the 5th gen, are the Chevy bowtie, and the SS badges. The new car is 200lbs lighter, and uses aluminium suspension parts to lower the unsprung weight, for a smoother ride. I like the new model, and may need to get one...in blue.
