Video: Motor Trend Head 2 Head - Z/28 vs GT-R
"On this episode of Head 2 Head, Jonny Lieberman travels to for a head to head matchup with the brand new Chevy Camaro Z/28 and a well known heavyweight, the Nissan GT-R. But not just any GT-R, the 2014 Track Edition which packs a 545 hp twin-turbo V-6, a 6-speed dual clutch transmission, sticky Dunlop tires and AWD traction into a car without rear seats. The Z/28, by way of contrast, features a massive 7.0-liter naturally-aspirated V-8, a 6-speed manual transmission, and tail-out RWD. While it does still have rear seats, nearly every other non-essential component has been removed. Moreover, the Z28's tires might be even stickier! The front ones, enormous 305-sections, are certainly the widest tires ever bolted to a production car. Both cars are phenomenal, and both cars make rational men scream, "Gimme!" But only one can come out on top. Watch and find out! Head 2 Head appears every fourth Wednesday on the Motor Trend channel. http://www.youtube.com/motortrend" Who wins?... (wheel studs didn't break off this time...)

That is the video to the story I posted earlier this morning. Awesome, awesome stuff. Wonder why the Porsche was in the story and not in the video? Odd and perplexing...
Really well done, kudos to the author and presenter. Excellent work. A Camaro beating a GT-R on track...holy hell. PS- GT-R's have a reputation for going into limp mode during warm days on track. And also need a $1000 transmission fluid change after every track day. Devil in the details...

"I'm tempted to say . . . it doesn't cost enough."
To all who had anything to do with this Z/28, you deserve a promotion so you can install the culture that permitted this car to be built wherever it is most needed. |

AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did anyone catch the part where Al O stated on a completely dry track they put the Z/28 right at about where the GT3 runs.....which is a 7:25???? Damn...if only we could have gotten THAT lap from the beginning. Oh wells...who cares now?? Haters bring on the hate.

An excellent observation. There is no need to mention them, or anybody, that has not earned their way into the conversation. At some point you are so far in the rear view mirror as to be all but invisible, making comparisons impossible even if you were in love with another brand.

I love the way Randy's comments kept you in suspense during the drive of both cars and then in the end.......BAM! Camaro wins!
Thinking of GTR fanboys, they will say they can at least listen to stereo music while running close to the Camaro, but in the end, Sayonara GTR...back to Japan with you, USA kicked your expensive butt!
