4:10 rear end or LT headers & tune?

Debating on LT headers like Kooks or ARH and of course a dyno tune which could void the powertrain warranty OR installing a 4:10 rear end and be done with it.

Question: do you need a tune for the rear end or just basic calibler modifications?

Which would be faster from start?

Which is is a better improvement for the money?

I live near both Lingerfelter and Livernois engineering. Which is awsome.

I take you mean manual, because both the auto and manual are 6 speeds. If you can only do one of them i would go exhaust because it does 2 things 1.) make your car faster 2.) make your car sound better

either mod "could" void warranty, but only to the extent that they contributed to the problem. Rear change would make the car faster in gears and with the overdrive still good on the highway. with the gear change the ecm will need to be updated to give correct speed, headers will also make the car faster tune not always necessary but will make the car respond to the mod. good luck.

The 4:10 gears could make it faster to 60mph possibly.

But I agree. But ya, headers and exhaust all the way.

If you were to ask my opinion, I would go with headers/exhaust. The reason being is you have a broader range of modifications you can consider by doing these.

Here is what I mean:

Let's say you decide to do the 4.10 gear now, but later you decide you really want to step up the game and do head/cam/blower or even just a blower. Now you have such a deep gear, first and most of second would be useless except at a drag strip. Now with headers and exhaust it would compliment ALL future upgrades equally.

What gear would you recomend to go with the TVS2300??

In all honesty if it were my own car, I would stick with the stock 3.45 gear. First gear comes pretty quick with that much added torque, especially when you increase boost or do other upgrades. I am NOT saying that the car couldn't be faster with a deeper gear, not at all... I just think some of the fun and ease of driving can be lost once the car makes a certain amount of power. If someone insisted on doing a gear with it I would not recommend more than a 3.73...
