Just because you installed bulbs without a retrofit does not mean you have a cheap kit.

So, this item from AAC is what I want, correct?

http://www.automotivelightstore.com/...hidkits-1.aspx

However, I don't see what I need to "retro-fit"....

A retrofit is when you install an hid projector into a reflector housing. You don't need to do it if you don't want to. Most will recommend it but if it isn't in your budget, oh well.

That kit looks like everything you need. But the price is a little much in my opinion. A kit like that goes for 150 on the retrofit source and it comes with a 5 year warranty.

That is fine if all you require is the Oracle Xenon low beam. If you need both high and low beam you need BiXenon. To be honest I have BiXenon and have never really needed the high beam as the HIDs are outstanding.

AAC has lifetime warrantee on their items....... not just 5 years.

Many do not like the projector.... budget or not. It comes down to a matter of taste... not everyone has the same. To each their own.

Yes but you also have to pay the return shipping for AAC and HIDs only last 5 years anyway.

I agree, everyone should do what they see fit. Don't let anyone tell you what to do and what not.

To be clear the HID bulbs will burn over time. The HID system also has ballast and wiring.

If I understand you correctly then they only warrantee for 5 years... ballast and all.

Shipping is not covered by most any company on warantee returns. Shipping on an item like this is minimal anyway.

Yes, the warranty is for 5 years.

The ballasts and bulbs would be the only part I would be concerned with anyway. Wiring if done right, will not fail.

They don't ask you to ship items back so you don't have to pay shipping. AAC asks for shipping both ways. Although it may be minimal, it's still a hassle going to go drop it off and still paying the 20 dollars for shipping both ways

Could someone point me to a retrofitsource xenon(not a bi-xenon) kit? That site is a little confusing...

As soon as I get home, ill post a link. Any reason you don't want a bi-xenon?

As stated, it really isn't needed. With the other HID that was in the headlights, I never needed the hi beams.

question

True or not??? If you just stick in the HID kit but no projector, you are gonna be that guy that blasts white light all over the place blinding everyone?? No cut off?

I actually don't think the retrofitsource sells a xenon hid kit that is completely plug and play for our camaros. You could buy another kit that you could try to fit but that just defeats the purpose in my opinion. If it were me, I would get the kit from the retrofitsource. Just for the simple reasoning that they are about 100 dollars cheaper than AAC and they are bi-xenon. I know you stated you won't need them but I figure it's ok to have them just in case.

Here's a link to the bi-xenon kit.

So that kit would be a complete plug and play?? If so, that is what I will go with.

Yes, I just don't know which relay harness you'd like. I would either email nate or andrew at the retrofit source and ask what's the difference and then decide which one you'd like. I can pm you their emails if you'd like. But other than that, yes it would be plug and play. It would just add the hid kit to your reflector housing.
