Stock SS rwhp?
Hope this isn't a re-post:
So I know a good estimate for hp at the wheels is 15% but has anyone actually taken their stock 5th gen SS out to a dyno? LS3 or L99 |

There was a thread about this but I can't find it. If I remember the ls3 was putting out about 360-370 stock. I've recently had a before and after dyno. Before with a complete Stainless Works headers and exhaust was 388rwhp. After was with a roto-fab cai, magnuson tvs2300 supercharger and a custom tune = 548rwhp and 513 torque.

LS3: 360-370 hp, L99: 320-330 hp
You can assume 15% drivetrain losses with the Manual transmission and 20% with the automatic.

Intersting how with even that difference in rwhp, how the car mags testing of bone stock showed the L99 and LS3 reaching 60 mph at virtually the same time (within a couple of 10ths). |

Isn't the gearing different? That would explain it if so.

My L99 pulled 326hp at around 5900 in stock trim with approx 1500 miles on the clock. That was done on a Dynojet, which I was told by the shop to figure around 20% loss ... which correlates to around 392hp at the crank .... pretty damn close to GM's advertised claims ...

L99 has more low end torque than the LS3. It beats the LS3 in 1st and 2nd gear, then the LS3 picks up in 3rd gear.

Mine had 19% loss exactly so the assumptions work apparently.
