About to order pads; Centric StopTech sport or Z26 Powerstop

There is many good reviews about Z26; good bite and a lot less dust. Little bit less performance than stock. A bunch of C7Z are running them on the streets. They are Ceramic brake pads.

Centric StopTech, I dont know..they look good and seems to be a good choice. User are saying it compares to Hawk HPS (dont know about that). They generate a lot of dust, it seems, since its not ceramic.

''StopTech Sport Brake Friction Pads, formerly known as Street Performance Pads, are engineered to meet the demands of high performance driving while maintaining the refinement and comfort expected in everyday driving conditions.

Features:
High MOT to Eliminate Fade
Excellent Actuation, Modulation and Release
Positive Molded for Uniform Friction Material
Scorched to Raise Initial Cold Effectiveness
Para-Aramid Composites for Linear Response
Dyno Proven Performance and Service Life
Lab-Developed Formulas with Strong Initial Bite
Ideal for Autocross and Light Track Day Use

CENTRIC Warranty Information
90 days/3,000 miles''

My car is a weekend warrior, I sometime go to autocross even, in an amateur way, some 1-2 sessions of 10mins lapping(if weather permits), 2-3 days ate the 1/4 mile, and agressive street driving.

I loved the stock pad feeling, but they are close to the worn indicator. they have lost a bunch of performance and they trigger the ABS easily and I need to smash the brake pedal when it happens. Kinda scary.

Stock pads are 300$ canadian and other brands are 160$.

Check out corvette forum.com those guys are selling there pads constantly an really cheap. Bought a set of Z06 pads non CCM front and rear with 300 miles for 100 bucks and the Stingray coupe use the same style pads as your 4 piston 1LE calipers.

Look into the Wilwood ProMatrix pads also. We ran those for a year and a half. Autocross, speed stop and track events. Never had an issue at all. Price is very good for what they can do. JDP Motorsports has them.

I would stay away from the StopTech pads. I tried them on my car and they were dusty, noisy and didn't have as much bite as the Hawks. Sure the Hawks are dusty but at least they perform much better.

After one track day, I took the StopTechs off and threw them in the garbage.

I'll recommend the GLoc also, depending on what your true need is for pads. I run GLoc's now and dust is there believe me, but on track these pads are proving to be damn good. I'll know more next weekend after another track day event and autocross. I run primarily the race pads so noise and dust are there and expected.

So a bit of an update here.

I went with StopTech and they brake reslly hard when hot. I flushed the fluid too with DOT4 ATE.

The initial bite isnt impressive, BUT Im pretty sure its because the rotors are done (heatspots on them and some35k miles).

New rotors ACdelco on the way.

I recommend those pads to anyone!!

Flushing the fluid improved the pedal feeling, but not much for the braking.

I just installed the Endless MX72 pads and 6-piston calipers. Super quiet on the street and they don't need to heat up to work. They are soft on rotors and have long pad life so for me the extra cost is worth it. Why save a few bucks on pads if they're going to chew threw your rotors and squeal like a pig? Might as well use the $150-$200 on better pads. I hear the PFC-11 are similar but I got a good deal on the Endless pads.
