Do you think the ZL1 will outperform the Base C7 Corvette

I am wondering do you guys think the Base C7 Corvette being released next Fall will outperform the ZL1? Both will have around a 60k price tag both made by GM both very respected cars in the Racing Scene

The ZL1 would probably have a pretty hard time with the current base C6 in most metrics, so I would hope the base C7 will be an overall improvement on that.

Seems like a rather large time difference between the Base C6 and the ZL1 if I am reading it correctly.

I have heard the lowest recorded time for a C6 bone stock is slightly lower than ZL1 though.

yeah nice try , those numbers are far from current
IMHO the ZL1 will lose to the base C6, the C7 should be an improvement over the C6, so do the math

yeah you posted a 2009 time from the ZR1 and a 2005 standing start time from the Z06, what was your reasoning? Since you stated "current" models, NOT a 2006 and a 2009 car

That is what they had on the list, maybe they don't have times for newer ones, if someone can find them post them. This is just a list of times they compiled, it wasn't a one time test.

Looks like the "Vette" owners are getting jealous that a Camaro might outperform them. LOL

All the magazine racing aside there is not enough data out there to say yet.

I have a feeling the the ZL1 will run with a base C7. It will get worse milage, possibly cost more, wiegh more.

Unless they anouce a HP increase at some point and include the mag ride standard there is no reason to think a Base C7 is going to out of this world. I have a feeling a Base GT500 would get stomped around a track as well.

I feel though that just like now the higher end C7's will hand the ZL1 it arse.

Its been speculated the base Vette will get a power bump over the current base Vettes, I am confident a base C6 LS3 non Z51 will take down a ZL1 , I would love to see someone put it to the test

<edit> I have owned a base C6 LS3 so I am not talking out of my butt here

Even before the GS took place of the Z51 option those cars were running low 12's at around 115mph. With DR's intake and tune guys were in the high 11's at around 120mph.
