Im freaking out as I had to take my camaro in for the service stabilitrack message, im worried it's going to cost me 1000 bucks or more to fix. I looked at other service stabilitrack threads.

I had that error come up on my DIC several months ago.

Took it to the dealership and they couldn't replicate the problem.

I haven't seen the message since

Simple fix.

This message sometimes come on when you leave the key in the ignition and turn it on to start the lights + radio, then turn it off. Sometimes when you start the car after this you get this message on the DIC screen.

This is at least in my opinion. From the times it has happened to me it was 100% due to this and did not mean a thing.

From what another member on here explained to me at least, it has something to do with turning the key partially on and not actually starting the engine then turning the key more, then off etc. Then finally starting the car.

It should be covered under warranty though from what I know if there is something actually wrong though.

So relax :P

Mine pops up every now and then when I remote start and then cancel it. No issues with my car.

what dealership say? did you give it time to see if the error would go off? or you saw the error and took it right into the dealership

You guys know that the radio works without the key having to be in the ignition.

Yup! I find that this tends to lead to the stabilitrak message popping up more frequently when you toy around with this option!

One thing I never remembered is that you can use OnStar to get the codes it's producing and maybe get more information on what's going on.

You can trigger the stability error if you don't start the car properly, I have had it a few times, and no problem driving, and the dealers couldn't find anything wrong when they inspect the vehicle.
