He did the install of the work in my sig and DSX did the tuning. Was kinda of an experience dropping the car off at his shop with out him there. Little worried about my baby with no supervision in the back hills of MO. He was a great guy to work with and had my car back to me in a week. Cant wait for him to build it bigger and badder.

I'm just going off my experience on the Vettes I've put blowers on. NASCAR headers are definitely not LS based car headers. Apex showed a 15 HP gain on an otherwise stock, 370 HP camaro. So less than that at 650?

I made the swap many times ,most times no gain at all. ARH told me not to waste my time and money and they were right.

I guess different experiences in different situations I've done Maggies and Whipples on over a dozen cars/trucks and have gotten better results from the 1-7/8" and 2" headers over the 1-3/4. Mine will be the first Camaro I've done. I usually am running modified Maggie TVS2300s (phenolic spacers, porting, modified for boost control). I may try a dyno comparison myself.

I know how the HP bug can bite you. I'm right at 100whp over stock now. It used to feel quick, now it just feels normal. I'm pretty sure the 650 (or close) won't be an issue with this setup. I'm also realistic to admit it will also suffer the same fate and start to feel "normal" after awhile. Larger headers may come into play if/when I decide 650 isn't enough. I know that going to the next level properly will require fully building the motor, ie forged internals, ect. To maintain any type of durability and longevity. I'm not sure if I could ever justify the cost to myself for a car that I want to drive anywhere at anytime. If this was a track car it'd be different, but we (my wife and I) use the car, groceries, taking the kiddos places ect. I know I'm leaving hp on the table, the Whipple has a 3.5" pulley on it now, and I'm going bigger because I know the engine isn't built the way I want it to handle 13-14lb of boost and over 800hp. Hopefully in a couple weeks to a month I can provide some feedback on how it went. I really would like to start wrenching soon!

Whipple 2.9 hopefully on a modest 9 or 10lb boost (4" or 3.875" pulley)
CBI ESAD cam
ID850 injectors
CTSv dual pump setup
SLP LT 1.34" headers
3" catless exhaust,X-pipe
Katech C5r t-chain w/ LS2 style tensioner
CAI w/Whipple tube
ZR1 3 bar MAP
Tune from DSX

Both my tuner and Chad from CBI said 650 shouldn't be an issue. Can't wait to get stupid!
LOL, you are looking at 700 rwhp . . . Go for it and keep us informed

I'd bet from 1 7/8" to a 2" header is only another 5-10whp. I only saw a 4% gain on headers with my car. True apples to apples type test.

You meant 4Hp? as 4% would be about 26Hp at your power level. He has 1-3/4 SLPs, so going it a 2" at his power level might be worth it in the future, is all I was getting at. The 1-3/4 SLPs I took off a c5 and swapped for 2" Kooks were worth 27 HP after tuning, taking total power to 684.

I'm not saying that larger headers wouldn't gain me some hp. I'm just thinking with this setup, my goal of 650 should be pretty attainable.

Oh, I'm not saying you won't get there with your setup, I'm 99% sure you will pass 650 by quote a few HP. I was only saying a better headerfor your application would help you out more than just a few HP.

I made 1047 on 1 7/8". Swapping to 2" but it was an easy 1000+ on 1 7/8".
