Well some dealerships is actually selling the Chevy SS for more than the SRT!

I saw that article. I was thrilled at the results (I was afraid of the SS getting creamed by the mopars).

I'm just not sold on the looks of the SS. Its got a great profile but the busy trim details and the c-pillars kind of waters it down (to be fair, I wasn't too sold on the old G8's look either). If it can get its appearance together then I can even overlook the power dip, but I'd expect that Chevy would put an lt1 variant in it making between 435-460 hp; That would be sweet!

I just wish they would of extended its look beyond the old G8s. From the side, its a G8. You almost wouldn't be able to tell the difference, under the hood....G8.

Its basically a G8 with a front and rear clip change, and a refreshed interior.

IBF Fenwick comes in with the list of over 60 differences. I know, but it looks identical from many views and angles.

The similarities to the G8 end once you get inside of one.

Interior of the G8 is as plain as the exterior of the SS.

Interior of the SS is as flashy as the exterior of the G8.

Exactly!

Actually got a chance to see my first SS at a dealership this past Monday. I was in Detroit for the Auto Show, and to visit some my GF family and friends. On the way back to the airport we stopped at Matick Chevrolet to look around (she had told me it was a large Chevy dealership).

Turns out they had 3 SS's there! The black one was already sold, but all were available for MSRP

They look great in person!

This video makes me want the SS a bit more but I'm still gonna wait a for a updated drivetrain which should make its way into this car like the LT-1, 8 speed auto and optional magnetic suspension. I'm just not gonna plunk down $50k on a new car with a 10 year old drive train. I honestly think a 2012'ish AMG C63 from Carmax w/ warranty would deliver more smiles per mile and cost the same then this LS3/6L80 combo. GM should of priced this similarly to the Camaro SS as it shares a lot of the same components.

I'm posting this here instead of starting a new thread like others probably will.

I saw a white one on the street the other day. It looked pretty bad-azz I have to admit.

I saw a red one in the wild a while back. It definitely looked nice but it didn't have that "gotta have it" factor the way the Camaro did. I also saw the new Escalade and that thing looks incredible--looks a million times better in person than it does on the website.

Seeing the SS parked next to a camaro really shows how bland the styling on the SS is
