Forget I'm in sport mode

Anyone ever do this? Today after work I put my car in manual while I was driving around town and on the drive home. I turn off the main road to my house and drive like I always do only to have my car hit high rpm's before I notice it. It doesn't help that I have my system turned up so I can't really hear the motor.

I forget all the time. What reminds me is, when I go to back up and the motor just revs because I only moved it into neutral.

How do you only move it to neutral? D is between M and N........ You have to move it too far to get it into neutral.... Or just hold in the upshift paddle to get it out of manual.

I get what he is saying. When you go from drive to reverse you have to move the shifter up two notches. When you are in manual, you have to move it up three for reverse when you're only used to two. I've done this before too.

I'm guilty of this.. it's why I don't use the tap shift very often. I'll be thinking about something and forget I'm in manual mode until my car don't shift! usually happens sitting at a stop light for awhile..

and what MYDLIFECRISIS makes sense to me too, I'm also guilty of that lol

Like I said, he went too far, as he said it he "only" goes to neutral.... When someone says "only" it implies he did not go far enough.
Anyway you don't need to move the shifter at all. Just hold the upshift paddle a few seconds and it goes back to sport mode.

I usually do it when I'm with others on a cruise or something. How embarrassing is that. 😳

What's embarrassing is deciding to go full throttle and finding nothing but the rev limiter at the top of 1st gear..
