Exhaust (Axle Back) and HE Bushings came in!:

Next will be the Eaton and LWP -- should be here in the next week. Once I get those, I'll get the diff updated by GPI...

The NicKey RR spends the vast majority of its time at the Autobahn Race Track in Joliet. It is lowered and has the DSS axles with HE style offset differential bushings. We have no issues with the axles.

Sounds like you may have found your issue.

Now that is good to know. I love the track at NCM and seeing how it beats up a suspension, had to upgrade my last set of OEM bushings...

Thanks!

Don,

Iv been looking but cant find it.

How lowered is your Camaro?

Im asking because as far as I understood, these H-E Bushings were meant for anything lower then an inch.

1", but they can be used for that -- I discussed this with JusticePete and he sees no issue with that @ all. It basically raises the diff 5/8" up so it still helps the angle -- the main item is to keep it from moving...

Yes, they can be noisier, and transmit a bit more vibration, but that is the nature of the beast. The HE bushings are made in two different materials depending on application, in order to help address the issue.

Right, I have the Delrin version so I expect a bit more noise. They do have a poly version that is more forgiving. Myself, I'll live with a bit more noise to keep the axles in place ;o)

JusticePete's sway bars and radius bushings came in! I went with these since the bias is 5 and will put me in a 'better' setup. These are 'solid' version so they are heavier for sure! I'm replacing the 'phat' inserts for the radius arms with a set of JusticePete's upgrades. Should allow the front to work 'much' better now. Rear will be great with the updates to the diff and swaybar -- bad part is I have to wait until next year to see how the changes work!

EDIT: I got the radius instructions, but not the bushings yet...

Sways and radius upgrade:

Stock Diffuser came in:!

Eaton TruTrac and LPW on their way from RDP! Once I get that, I'll get the diff updated and installed...

Interested to see what the upgraded diff will do...

Rear Diffuser Removal the Easy Way!

Today, in about 15 minutes, I was able to remove the diffuser 'without' taking off the rear bumper and 'without' pulling like a madman!

It was really simple. I removed all the 7mm head bolts, then, pull on the 'side' of the diffuser on each side to remove the first 'slipped' in guide.

Once each side was 'loose', I got under the car, and using this (the non curved end):

Managed my way up to each location (using a light) and pushed the 'top' of the guide down enough so I could pull the diffuser loose:

OUT!:

Diffuser off!:

The middle ones were really pretty easy doing it this way. I did make sure the 'tool' was leveraged against the plastic absorber, but it took very little effort. I spent more time getting the light steady so I could 'see' where I had to wedge the tool and with a 'lever' action, was able to get each guide loose enough to pull the diffuser out.

Seriously, 15 - 20 minutes effort, and I took my time. You do need to go smoothly and carefully, sure beats pulling like hell to get it off (I'm old and don't want to embarrass myself falling on my butt yanking like that -- would look like one of the commercials where folks are pulling on the grocery carts)!

Here is the original diy guide:

There not just for lowered cars. Stock height cars benefit from them too.

Congrats Don, making good progress!
