Granatelli plug wires

https://www.summitracing.com/parts/g...#overviewvideo

Haven’t seen much reviews on these wires , other than being expensive any one have insight on these ? Fitment with 2” headers ? Wires melt ?

My tsp wires started to crack /melt even with the heat socks on . Went to order new set thru tsp but on back order 3-4 weeks although I could wait was looking at a better wire and as far as ohms per foot these best them only reason I’m interested .. thanks for the input

I’m curious too. I use the space boots, the second wire on the drivers side boot rests on the header. I have to replace the boot and wire every 20,000 - 30,000 miles. I have looked at the granitelli for my next tune up.

It’s what Jennetty used in my build. No issues.

Should I be looking at these since the headers are going on soon? How are these any different from stock as far as the Header/Heat issue?

I have them in my car and haven't had any issues. I did hook them up to my meter before installing and they were pretty darn close to being 0 omhs. I also coupled them with their Malevolent coil packs and it practically eliminated my cam's "fish biting".

I would recommend going with something like these that have the boot protectors...especially since you have headers.

I ran my stock wires for years with my headers and never had any issues.

I'm sure they're good wires, but unless you have a significant build that merits for some reason, I don't see the value other than nice color. Stock wires will perform just as well. I and many others have long tubes with stock wires and no issues.

Just one of the reasons I wrapped my headers. I'm running Taylor 409 with no issue.

^^^^ This. I don't have my headers wrapped, but I too am running the Taylor 409's for the last 8 years with no issues. I was looking at the Granatelli's back when and talked to Summit Racing tech, and they said the same thing as listed one post up. Unless you are running a big build with a ton of HP and boost and race fuel with magneto's or dual distributors with a pretty long wire, you don't need the zero ohm wires. For our cars the normal ohm wires including stock are fine. Save your money, I did.

I am looking at them more for the heat protection, the 0 ohms is a nice bonus for me. This spring my plan for tune up includes wrapping the headers as well. I am also looking at coil relocation. Headers are worth it, but the heat is an issue for wires.

If you relocate your coils you're going to have to get custom wires made (PCMofNC) or get the MSD builder set and make your own. My coils are on the frame where the collectors used to be... Nothing fits

JR put some of those junk wires on my car at Fest II, in Phoenix.... He was feeling guilty (if that's possible). I ran them from Phoenix to my home and then to the shop where my build was managed.... (1100 miles)

We pulled one of them off, and disassembled it.... Autozone bulk wire is what we found.... cheap boots and a cute colored cover.... We put the factory wires back on until we went really big on my build, then I got custom R-100 Magnecor Wires...

There are better options than anything GMS....

So I have those exact wires, but I don't run them anymore. I ran them when I had my L99. Never had any issues with them...except for when I tried to swap them over after I installed the LS3. One of the coil end terminals came right off the wire and was still stuck in the coil. I was beyond pissed and I didn't want to deal with trying to repair them, so I just bought a set of Hinson wires, which have been fine. Eventually I will upgrade.

Plug end of the boots held up fine near the headers. I had them on for around 3 years.

I didn't notice any sort of benefit from their 'Zero Ohm' claims over any other standard performance wire or stock wires, and I never took the multimeter to them. I definitely would not buy them again though, especially at $185 per set. I don't know WTF I was thinking. I really think your money is better spent elsewhere, especially with Taylor/MSD being much cheaper and time tested.
