Ported Throttle Body Worth It?

Hey guys,

So far all I have done to my V6 is a CAI and I LOVED the results. Now I am thinking a ported throttle body is a good investment. How do you guys like them? I want my car to be more responsive and faster. I like to race! Will this help my out?

Finally what kind and who do I buy from?

Personally, it made a noticeable difference in throttle response and acceleration...it's a great bang for the buck and I would recommend contacting Ivan @ Southwest speed on here, awesome guy

Yes, do it.
And Tracy from RX performance is probably the most popular. He sells and supplies a lot the ported ones on here.

If you aren't afraid to remove your intake manifold then i would say no, don't get the throttle body. Get an intake manifold spacer instead. Better gains than the ported throttle body for the same price.

But if you want to keep it simple then yea, do the ported throttle body

I did the Vmax throttle body on mine and love it. Was only $150 with the core and got mine from JDP Motorsports. They are an authorized vendor on here and these guys rock. Buy from them and you will not be disappointed.

I second that, but would like to add getting a ported intake manifold. I'm not even thinking about a ported throttle body now. I have neck jerking throttle response from that combo.

The LY7 is a different connector or is the same other than that, so it wont work.

There is a definite improvement in responsiveness that will put a smile on your face. It has become a very popular upgrade for our V6 customers. Here is a quote from one of our customers that recently added the ported throttle body, Black Ice-Olator, and the Apex scoop.

I can't wait to really put the pedal to the metal & feel her roar. Hurry up Saturday!

I have never heard of this.. I did a quick search and everyone seems to love it!! Maybe this a route I should take. How hard is it to do compared to a CAI? (the only other mod I have done under the hood)

Could I get a shop to do it cheap?
