You're going to have more concern over keeping it clean than having a hazardous situation present itself.

Don't wax it. Don't put polish on it. Use Adams VRT and apply conservatively and evening then let it go for a while before reapplying. When washing it don't let the water dry on it. I use a leaf blower to dry mine after sheet drying with water. Keep the hood open when polishing and sealing the fender paint. I use Garry Dean's Infinite Use Detail Juice to doctor up any spotted areas. And mine is looking good as new to this day (only been a month and a half).
