Enthusiastic driving: At what age did you grow out of it?

So I overheard my brother-in-law tell my sister that I was going to end up blowing my cars engine before the warranty was up. It left me wondering whether or not I need to rethink my driving method. I know I have a heavy foot and have redlined my LS on a few occasions; even hit the rev limiter twice. I'm hoping proper maintenance will help offset too much damage (changing oil every 3k miles with Royal Purple). I'm sort of regretting having opted for the V6, especially after having sold my GT.

I cant imagine me ever losing my need for speed, and needing to be on the race track. In my Silverstate race you should see all the old farts that run at these high speeds

Had a guy do some house-leveling for me several years ago. His grandfather was 95-96 at the time and had just bought a new Corvette. He told Jimmy he'd take him for a ride. At 120+, Jimmy said, "Gramps, don't you think you should slow down a bit?"

Let's put it this way...

If they stick a steering wheel in my casket I'll be busting dirt in that too.

Send me a link or PM when you do.

I was going to be back at Mid-Ohio on Monday, but work is keeping me from enjoying life

Nice to know it's completely normal to fully enjoy my car. Still wondering though whether I'm causing too much harm to it by running it at 3,000 RPM's all the time.

I'll slow down when my reflexes are too far gone to drive fast safely.
