Reversing key recall

We I traded in my 2012 2ss of a 2014 zl1 and the key had been redone at the factory so I set after it with a bench grinder as for some reason I received 3 functional keys and 2 fobs, and 20 mins later reinstalled the key on the fob.
I ground off the plastic key nob with a bench grinder working from the side inward and in doing so I hit the security chip so the key would not work in its own but once I installed it in the fob with a roll pin( I pressed the small roll pin in using the jaws of my bench mounted vise) the car started up not tripping the anti-theft . The fob must still have the security chips in as well.

My Z was in for oil change and dealer asked if i wanted to Opt out of the recall. To which I responded YES! Didn't know we could do that, but my service writer drives a Z also and said he likes the switchblade better too.

When I took my car into the dealership last week on the supercharger noise and bulletin, I was asked about this key replacement. I was told I could sign a waiver to reject it. I told them to not order the key and I will sign the waiver when I pick the car up.
