The Engine Light is on, a GM service center said Warranty is good up to 36,000 miles.

Good thing im at 33?

Not Sure how long the light has been on. Guess I'll take her in to them, see whats going on. She still runs the same though.

Mine just came on at 33,000 miles also. Runs fine and fluid levels are ok. Gas cap tightened correctly. Could this be for a recommended service interval?

So they rest the code and send you on your way without fixing the issue!

Go to another dealer and get this fixed properly.

That's unacceptable. They're probably praying the light won't come back on until your warranty is up. Those catalytic converters are NOT cheap

Put in a tank of gas.... light went out after about 50 miles. I think the previous fill-up must have been poor quality.

Your fuel quality and your oil changes are NOT going to cause an electrical problem (ignition coil) nor are they going to cause a catalytic converter or oxygen sensor problem.

Your dealer is hoping to bank on you spending a good chunk of money on those catalytic converters. Those are going to cost well within four digits and then some, I promise you.

Go start a riot. There is absolutely no way an oil change would cause this... Give em hell if they try to BS you like that.

File Under- "If it happened once, it'll happen again".

Probably at 36001 miles.

+1
I work in the Auto industry and that is just BS by the dealer. Make sure you have something in writing from the dealer so they will cover it if it returns after the warranty expires. My .02 as an ex-service manager as long as I could prove previous issue it was always cover even if warranty had expired. But that was just me and I always looked after my customers.
