Dude that sucks, I havnt even seen it yet. Dont let them talk you in to thier insurance shop. I would get a couple of estimates first on your own.

Took it to an auto body shop (one that does resistance welding) and the damage looks to be about 5.5k. The guy also noticed a crack on the tire that was impacted, I don't know if I should be driving it still in fear of a blow out. I spoke to the other parties insurance and they said they would cover a rental of a similar vehicle but cautioned me to stick with something cheap incase there's some issues with the claim.

Anyone rent another Camaro while yours was down and out or did you just stick to the cheapest rental they offered you.

I had a vehicle totaled once, (other driver's fault)...after it was in the body shop and they determined it was indeed a total, they tried to take off the cost of the rental to reduce their payout!

Maybe they are just saying, in case its not all their fault, you might have to pay something for what you rent...just a thought.

I don't know what's worse not driving a camaro for 2-3 weeks or worrying that the 100-150 day rental won't be covered.

If they haven't determined who's at fault yet, or even once they do, there might be limits/max per day they pay for a rental...whether its your insurance or there's...for instance, if you insist they fix it at a body shop of your choosing, they are not going to pay for a rental forever...

The insurance companies are moving at glacial pace and apparently the other person left the country for vacation. I just want my car fixed already Looks like its a cheap rental for me...

Your own agent should be able to give you some input on the particulars or what ifs on the rental...good luck!
