Maxing out the Vortech V3Si on ESS Tuning Kit

After reviewing all my logs and speaking with ESS Tuning, it appears I can spin this blower a little faster and still be under the max rpm allowed by Vortech.

I'm currently seeing a max of 10.5-11.3 psi on a 95mm pulley. All of my logs, including dyno runs (in very hot dyno rooms) show my hottest IAT being 104 degrees F. On the street, I rarely see over 102F peak.

My timing tapers down to 14.5 degrees up near redline. I'm still running 93 octane and see zero KR. I'm thinking about dropping down to a 93mm pulley, to gain 2 more pounds of boost. I have a modified FPCM and see a solid 58 psi to redline, so I think on 93, I have plenty of fuel.

Does anyone see a reason not to pulley down ($129) and retune ($400)?

Thanks

Sell it and put the money toward a bigger blower. You are already wanting more power.

I cant say anything at this point, but something like that is in the works.

I just wanna see what this little thing can do first. For $530 i could pick up 30-40whp and be at a comfortable stock block limit.

Since the belt is the same for 95 and 93mm pulley, i had considered doing a race gas tune on the smaller pulley. Only takes a few mins to swap it out and flash the tune for race days.

If you get to the point that you want to upgrade I can get a pretty good price on a YSI head unit and oil lines for it.

Appreciate that, but I have something in the works but it might take a while.

So if there is no one that sees a problem with the pulley change a retune, I guess I'll order it. My fuel system seems to be perfectly fine on 93, don't see why it couldn't handle another 40hp. We'll see.

Not sure why it matters, but it was tuned by Redline Motorsports.net on their Land and Sea Dynomite. Look them up.

I've got 407 miles on the new RXT1200 clutch. Almost done with the break in....

The little V3si is not to bad lol. Just run a bunch of 10.2s at the Camaro fest with it. I ran across the scales at the fest and weighed 4140 pounds with me in it. Full interior , stock front wheels and 18” MT tires out back.
