Mine is going back to the dealer this week for an oil leak that appears to be coming out of the bell housing. The dealer attributed the leak to an aftermarket oil filter on the first visit, brought the car home and cleaned it up during the header install, drove if 10 miles and checked it the next day, it's leaking and not at the oil filter! I though I saw a TSA on C5 regarding rear seal leaks but I haven't been able to find it.

I have heard it leaks from numerous different places and no one can really seem to pin point it. So far from what I gathered it has "leaked" from :

Oil Pan (design)
Oil Pan gasket
Oil cooler
Oil filter and/or housing

This is sad news, as I have already ordered one, and im not looking foward to playing the guessing game with the dealership once I take ownership. :(

I had an oil leak at the bell housing also! The car has 2400 miles and no mods and the only oil change was done at the dealer with the correct filter. They replaced the seal and it seems fine now. I have a lift in my garage so I have been keeping and eye on it and it hasn't leaked since then.

Dealer update - they have narrowed it down to either the oil pan or rear seal
and are hoping it's the rear seal as this is only a 4 hr job vs. 12hrs for the oil pan. Will pull the transmission tomorrow and advise.
More news to follow

LOL its not gonna blow from an oil leak. My oil cooler was leaking and they fixed it, now a few months later its leaking again. Just like my gen 1 small blocks.

I had a double wammy. Both the oil pan gasket and the oil cooler seal were bad. It looked to be minor seapage that spread out all over my oil pan. It was covered under warranty and fixed in a day. Haven't had any other problems since. I'm well over 15K miles on the od.

Just spoke to the dealer and the leak source has been identified at the oil pan. As they suspect porosity of the pan they are ordering a new pan from GM. Hopefully it will arrive by next Wednesday and I'll have my car back Friday. FYI.. They have to drop the engine (from the bottom) to replace the pan.:(
