Stains on rotor hats

Well....Out of pure laziness I decided to start cleaning my wheels with Meguair's Wheel Cleaner the last few washes and noticed what looks like water spots on the rotor hats.

Mostly the staining is on my front rotor hats but I have a little on the rears too. Any suggestions for removing these stains? Looks awful when the car is nice and clean (which it isn't now lol) and I have these crusty looking rotor hats peeking out behind the wheels.

Thanks everyone

I'd be more concerned about the wheels. Did the Meguair's cleaner do that bubbling on the wheels?

lol...I think he only cleaned half the rim before taking the picture.

I'd say you need to go out and perform on hard braking and that should clean off your rotors.....

Yeah the wheel looks fine, they are just water drops...

I think the OP is refering to the inner round piece, not the actual rotor? I mean the darker colored piece, there are water marks between the nuts, etc.

Yeah, the center part of the 2 piece rotor in the front has some staining on it on mine too. I was just going to take them off and paint them or get them powdercoated with my rims.

That's why I never use any product on my wheels that I would not use on the paint of my car.

The center hat of the ZL1 front rotor is anodized aluminum, the cleaner etched it.

Yep, that's what I'm referring too.

Gotta be a way to clean these without refinishing. I mean, as much I love this car, and I hate saying this, but these aren't over the top trick rotors on an exotic. These are upgraded brakes on an assembly line built Camaro. Surely there's a fix

I was having similar issues. I pulled my rotors off, cleaned and repainted them. I also did the calipers red.

What cleaner did you use? I don't want to have the same issue.
Thanks in advance.

With painted surfaces, polish will remove water spots. Cleaner wax may do it.

Try some vinegar maybe its just water spots, that's why I always use car soap to clean my wheels. What really bothers me is that the front Hats are black and the rear Hats are silver!!
