Nice Job, to run faster than you have on street tires, you are going to need better DA than what Houston area has to offer. The boys in NJ run good because they are near sea level and see GREAT DA on a 55 degree day.

Here is my best run when running my General Gmax street tires in the rear.

Decent DA that day, and some of the best track prep at this track this time.

This is a small snip from my spread sheet of all my runs.

I feel like I can crack it on a good night. DA is not too bad at night. I feel like my launches are too soft at 2000 rpms with traction control on, il try 3000 next time with the traction control off see of that helps. I know I can get it, I'm so close!

What street tires are you using? Are you a manual or automatic?

The thing is I had completely bald tires that day because autocross ate my tires alive the previous day (this was at the fest by the way). I got a steal for some nitto motivos and thats what I'm running at the moment.

Sorry I have not been on for a few days. I'm an automatic and launch from an idle. I am located in Maryland. I run M&H Drag Radials.

I've tried a ton of different things, but launching from an idle is the only thing that works for me with these v6 cars... Everything else just results in slower times

Google "flashing the converter" or "flash stall"... Often the "flash stall" RPM is higher than you can achieve with a "foot brake stall", which means the car may leave at a higher rpm (assuming you don't have traction issues).

There's a little more going on as to why it works, but I'm not allowed to talk about it.

Try it, you'll like it. You will have to relearn how to launch your car though if you've been doing the "foot brake" method for a long time.
