Hell Bent for Leather

I got my leather seat covers and put them on this past weekend. They look and feel awesome. I will post pics soon.

One question I have is that my kit came with material to replace all the cloth in the interior including the console cover, arm rests, dash strips, and the door insert pieces that are cloth. The dash strips and console cover were easy and are done. I tried to re-cover the door inserts and arm rests but the door panels have the inserts melted together to the inside of the door panels. I know lots of people have the painted inserts so, how do you safely take those inserts out and replace them if they are spot welded(melted) into place?

I cannot seem to find any videos on this or maybe I am looking in the wrong places? Got any links?

Damn these cars have lots of hog rings in the seats. I did my 2008 Ram truck a few years ago and not a single hog ring in those seats.

If you're talking about the little black rivets you're going to have to either drill them or cut them off. My suggestion is drill them, since cutting them has the chance of damaging the panel. You will need to replace the rivots with bolts/screws. See the link below. Post 35 has the sizes you will need.

When I did mine the easiest way was a sharp chisel to cut them off with one quick blow. Once you cut them off a #10 wood screw with a washer will screw right back in the now hollow tube.

It looks like I need to take those inserts out to get the arm rest off too.

That's right. Despite their questionable preferences those guys rocked out.

Where did you get this leather kit from? I want to add leather and color change my interior.
