If the Camaro was designed to live for only 100K miles it would never have survived 300K worth of testing.

If it was designed to live for only 100K miles, surviving 300K worth of testing would be a complete fail because that would mean they overbuilt it and, therefore, wasted money.

HDRDTD has it right.

300k miles is nothing. I had an old Toyota PU that had over 475k miles when I sold it. Only thing I ever replaced was the water pump, starter and radiator.

Are you the original owner? What year? How many miles?

a car has to go 100k or people will badmouth it. after 100k, nobody expects much.

It’s a 2004. It was my mom’s car; as she and my dad got older, they decided they didn’t both need a car, so they gave it to us and my son drives it. It had 28k miles (crazy low, I know) when we got it about 3 years ago and has 45k now.

It’s an LS (my son wishes it was an SS!) and has leather seats and a sunroof. Nice car, not a hot rod but still enjoyable to drive.

My thought on the 100k mile marker is that's its more an minimum goal line for what people expect to have zero problems out of a car ..when looking at used car the 101k feels a lot worse than a car with only 89k ..kind of a mental thing.

What I would like to know is what problems did consistently arise within the 300k mile tests ..which items gave out and when ..that would be the mother load of info I would love to have.
