When putting the top up, do you..

stop before it is closed and turn the handle so it will line up to latch, or do you let it all the way up until it hits the upper windshield and push up the top and latch it?

I normally stop it before it touches the windshield and turn the locking handle and then hit the button again and let it finish closing. Just curious how everyone else is doing it

No need to turn the handle more than just to unlock and lock. Ive had no problems and I think it's the way most of us are doing it.

once I open the locking handle, I don't close it again until the top is back up. Never had a problem.

So when you open the top to let it down, you don't turn the handle back to where it is flush, as it is when the top is up and locked?

I put it back flush - and grab it on the down to turn the handle before it closes. Side note - got my car back from the shop with the rub issue - filed down some "plastic" piece that pinched the top per my body shop guy. No mention of replacement - wonder if it is better to have marks or a new top? I guess I have 3 years to see - Love the car!

If I am thinking about it, I put it flush. Otherwise, if I happen to be in a hurry or multi-tasking, I don't put it back flush. I can't say I've seen a difference one way or the other. I know the manual says to put it back flush though.

Sometimes twist the handle back in when down, other times I forget. Doesn't seem to make any difference either way.

I do all that you mention. I prefer the latches on the top's locking mechanism to be in the open position before it lands on the top of the windshield. Before opening, I put the handle back flush.
