Recall Notice
I got my recall notice 2 days ago. Not sure what to do? How many of you are going to swap your key?

I was thinking one or none, not sure what options we have. I haven't turned the car off yet and 40,000 miles.

My knee doesn't come anywhere near touching the key when it's in the ignition. I will gladly refuse the Recall and sign a waiver.

Turned it in.
Not clear on how or why it makes a difference. My new key works just fine, but maybe it's not for everyone.

Already did it a month ago. If you'd rather not , all you have to do is sign the waiver.
As long as I have a key that'll start the car, it's all good. |

I received my recall letter last week, but there was no mention of a need to sign a waiver if I did not want to change my keys.
At 5'5" on a hot day, I can't hit the key with my knee when I try, so I'm keeping my factory key sets. I want to keep everything original. |

To each its own but I can not even come close to hitting the fob with my knee, Hence I'm keeping the cool keyfob.

I went in for an oil change and was automatically flagged as needing the "Ignition switch recall". I asked for the waiver and was told that GM recently issued a memo stating that they can no longer do the waiver.
I had my key taken out of the FOB and was issued a new, separate, key. I went home and swapped out my key with the spare set I have. In the future, if I have to bring the car in, I will give them the replaced set. I was not happy, but this isn't the dealerships fault. I really wish GM would offer a better solution than removing the switchblade.
