If it does become a dealer installed option (LPO), I would assume they would be like all the rest. Bouston Acoustics.

This is correct...I hope i dont step on any toes when I say no idiot would do this. 200 watts? are you kidding? Maybe im just used to my 2 500 watt RMS subs with a 1000 watt amp. 200 watts would sound like toddlers playing in the back seat. Just my biased opinion

I am sure there will be some good after market sub enclosures released for the car fairly quickly. One advantage is the battery is in the back to make this eaiser anyway. Do you think the wiring will be in the car for the subs even if the option for the subs is not ordered?

I doubt it. It would cost GM a buttload to put extra unused wiring in every car. That and my current car has a factory sub and the entire wiring harness is different than non-sub cars. I do think that it gives a good amount of bass to the system. The overall sound quality is better too since a lot of the bass load is taken off the small door speakers. It puts you somewhere between the stock system and an aftermarket sub, mine is enough to rattle the mirrors.

Extra wiring for the sub?? My "guess" is that they will just line-level off of the rear deck speakers. I'm sure there is a remote turn-on lead somewhere back there also.

Wait on this particular option....aftermarket will be much better

I am getting 2SS, so I will have the BA system. I will do aftermarket subs and amp. The wiring wont be that difficult and the sound will be much better, I have never been impressed by MTX anyway. There are much better subs out there and I already have an extra Alpine PDX 1.1000 amp that actually bench tested to 1146 watts RMS at 2 ohm or 4 ohm. It is small in comparison to other high output amps, 2 1/2 x 7 1/2 x 10 1/8. Plus they are stackable. I have one in my Colorado with 2 10" subs and it sounds great.

dont go through GM on this. You could get way more power for the price that GM would probably put up. Im looking to run 800rms in my Camaro, i need to sound proof it first though. MTX sledgehammers running 800 rms, and then a Fosgate Amp because it will have more then enough rms to run my subs to its full potential without overheating my amp. Fosgate amps run cool, and always pound more RMS then its states, i think it was 1000 rms amp my installer had, but the sheet showed that it actuall ran like 11or 1200 rms. I would only need to setmy Amp to a bit over half to runs my subs nicely without burning them.
