Ok Russ but I never did bash the mods so I'm wondering where that's coming from?

I only addressed the Texas crowd because that's where most the complaints are coming from, that's all.

Dallas to Austin shouldn't take you much more than 3 hours.

It's between 4 and 4.5 hours from my house in San Antonio to downtown Fort Worth or Dallas.

Dallas to Houston shouldn't take you much more than 3.5 hours.

And from Austin to Houston should be roughly 2.5 hours.

So, yeah, if you drove from Houston to Dallas by going through Austin, of course it's going to take you almost 6 hours. But there are MUCH more direct routes than that. You're literally going 2.5 hours out of the way for absolutely no reason.

I-35 and I-10 are not the only highways in Texas

That's where my head scratching came from.

I never said you bashed the mods. I said I agreed with you that some of the posts were over the top (including the ones bashing the mods). If you never bashed the mods, then you wouldn't be included in that statement. Cool?

No My drive was just from Dallas to Austin. And yes we did make stops as in drinking too much pepsi and mountain dew so time was consumed in that. I guess I was outside of Dallas tho, coming from Grapevine. Well good to know it shouldn't take that long.

And to further explain, most Texans were certain that the event was going to be held closer to, if not in, Texas this year. So we were all excited to show everyone a great time.

Indy stole our thunder

Yeah I truly want a fest in Dallas or one of the big cities, or somewhere in Southern Cali if possible. I just love driving to those places and making a vacation of it. I mean no better way to go on vacation and have one of your favorite cars with you at all times.

I did a cross country trip this year in exotic and you just can't beat it or the views.

Let's get the word out to other non-5th gen owners, too. It was about 99% 5th gen's last year and afterwards I spoke to other Camaro owners right here in Indy that had no idea the event even happened. Not that the crowd was small, but there are a lot of really nice older Camaros out there. Personally, I'd love to see some old vs new on the track next summer.

Not yet.

We're still cooking that up. But don't worry - there'll be plenty of room!
