I made "The Leap." I started my own YouTube Channel

Since retiring, my wife has been "hinting" that I've been following her around like a lost puppy, and need to find something ELSE to do

Since detailing cars has always been a passion (as is teaching others how to maintain their car's finish), and people who know me, KNOW this - several suggested I start a channel teaching the basics.

It took me some time to approach "being normal" again after retiring, and since detailing "season" actually started in Ohio about two weeks ago, I decided, "What the hell?"

If you all could pop over and take a look, and let me know what you think (just remember, this is way out of my comfort zone, and I'm nervous as hell, plus I tend to "give people the finger" when I'm not using the tripod). So be gentle

Detailing Basics - Keeping it simple

Thanks for the well wishes.

(Almost) two weeks, 16 videos, 12 subscribers, 786 views on my videos so far - not too bad for a guy who's never done anything like this before.

I MIGHT get into product reviews at a later time. Right now if *I* don't like a product for whatever reason, I WON'T mention the name of the product, or Company who makes it (like with my nephew's car - the tire shine he used was HORRIBLE. He told me what he used, but in the video, I just said the stuff was terrible and gave the reasons I thought WHY, but refused to disclose what it was). I'm in no mood for a pissing match on my channel all because I "dissed" someone's favorite product/brand.

BTW, as soon as the Camaro is out of the shop (fried alternator, LF wheel bearing and a fuel pressure sensor that's UNDER the intake manifold), I will be doing a video on it. A full-blown, Wash/compound/polish/wax detail. And I'll post it here.

Thank you so much!

One of them has over 1,000 views already and it is BLOWING MY MIND!

I'm supposed to be getting my Camaro back from the shop today (LF, wheel bearing, Fuel pressure sensor, under the intake manifold, alternator, battery and of course, an oil change) and I'll be doing a series of videos on it next.

Awesome! That's quite a work repair. Enjoy that baby when you get it back!

Not so bad, when you figure it's 11 years old (sold new in August 2012), AND has 166,100 miles on it.

Yep. As vocal as I am, I stop short of mentioning the one car make I will never buy, and the only way you'll get me in one is if I'm stranded farther than walking distance from home...and it's raining.

I have owned dozens of American, Euro and Asian cars. I'm not a brand specific guy for the most part, but I never reveal which one it is. Grin....

And best of luck with the channel!

Thanks, having a black interior HID most of the staining, but the once bright yellow towels don't lie. My quitting smoking completely is still a work in progress, but I ONLY smoke outside and ONLY at home - either on the porch or in the garage. I stopped smoking in the house several years ago, and when I go somewhere, I chew the hell out of cinnamon gum.

Glad you liked the video.
