Anyone else get this ? (OnStar Email)

So I got this email from OnStar today.

Name: Capture.JPG
Views: 1136

They are replacing my onstar module apparently. However I would absolutely love to add bluetooth to my car, since I use onstar as well I can't go with options like bluestar to replace the entire module. It would be great if they would let me pay a bit more for the upgraded box. Think they would go for it?

I also have a 2010, and received that email and/or letter a few times now. Each time they mention something is coming soon, but I've yet to see anything. They damn well better not charge me to swap the hardware. Otherwise the subscription goes poof!

In general... OnStar sucks. Save your money and cut the cord.

Some of us like onstar, or at least the idea of it. I think of it as part of my insurance on the car. The automatic crash response and stolen vehicle assistance are the key features for me. Anyway, there are a million threads about onstar good onstar evil. Let's not go there

Back to the topic of hardware change required soon...

Thank you, not interested in debate over to keep it or not. I want to keep onstar but really want bluetooth. Would be great of they would let me buy the other module. I will have to ask the dealer next time I'm there.

I got the same letter for my car, my '09 Sierra, and my wife's '14 Terrain.

As was said by NFRNOSS, if they want to charge me for the hardware upgrade then GM can go pound sand.

I got the letter last week for my 2014 1LE. Maybe with any luck they will give us the new 4g wifi like in the new gm/chevrolet vehicles. I wont hold my breath though. If theres an additional cost to me other than subscription. gm can suck it !

No I guess I'm up to date. I wish they would quit selling my information, they somehow got my phone number and I always get calls for warranties, and vacation package crap.

I know it was them because they don't even know my name, the name they ask for is the variation they use when Onstar sends me letters or email.

They've never a dime from me, never will.

Oh wow, so the hardware in the 2014 is still incompatible? Guess my 2012 terrain will also need it! Sigh.

Sounds about as bad as when AT&T decided I needed a new modem if I wanted them to stop charging me one speed level above what my service actually was.
