push button start installed...

it took me 3 weeks on and off to get it right but its done...everything works as planned...i installed a rf pass key system and a lexas style button.. came out nice.i also installed a viper remote start ( yes its a stick i know) but this system is stick shift compatible ( it also uses smart start) which is a program for smart phones so i dont need a fob at all i can remote start, lock and unlock ect threw my cellphone.. i also relocated the entire ignition key assembly and relocated into the glove box so it still will start with a key if all else fails.

first let me explain the system it is based off the lexas style,no keys just a credit card (very thin fob) can fit in pocket with ease.. it automaticly opens the doors when you walk upto the car (range is about 5 feet) and locks when you shut down and walk away...its a really cool feature actually... also it has buttons for locks, trunk pop and panic button on it.. the system works flawlessly once i got it correct...it is extreamly confusing and i actually had it in and out a dozen times before i got it how i wanted it..
they recommend using a db all as a bypass, i strongly disagree..i bought the db all from directed and let me tell you its a complete p-o-s...after countless hours on phone with tech and the system company and even paying someone for tech time that was familiar with the unit i ripped it out ( they claim its the only way and db all is the only one to use)
i ended up using a fortin evo all ( a canadian based company who is light years ahead of directed...the evo all was a simple install that allowed me to do exactly what i needed
i was told by atleast 30 people and shops that it is not possible to do what i did,, well i did it and its awesome.. i have had prior exp doing remote starts and stereo stuff and there was a few times that i had to rethink what i was doing.

the system works as follows walk upto car with card in pocket and doors unlock, tap button once system goes to acc tap again and its key on position step on brake and hold for 5 seconds and car starts tap brake and hold button for 5 seconds car shuts off. if i remote start the car i simply get in tap button 2x and hit brake and the button takes over..simple, like i said i removed the key and installed in glove box as a back up so car will always start, i removed the steering lock, and mounted the button..all function work as normal, rap off..ect.... i am extremly pleased with the turn out and it was worth the hair pulling and stress to figure out, now it seems pretty simple cause i know exactly what to do...as for the stereo i did also so that took time and some figuring aswell i ended up using an audiocontrol piece to get my rca connections off of the factory amp, sounds amazing and very tunible...the one in the pic actually was a pos i was testing and fried...like i said tomorrow i will clean her up real good and take pictures...

So I really really really want this now that I know it's actually doable. Would you be able to put together a kit per say that someone, hypothetically ME, could buy?

everything i used is pretty easy to come by, no custom stuff except the key relocation which was a bit of a pain but a great fail safe..you can mount the button anywhere you want and leave the ign key where it is. i wanted to loose the wheel lock so i pulled it and relocated while i was at it,i can tell you what to get and exactly what wires to tap and it shouldnt take more then a day to do....

I like that plan. If it's not too much of a hassle for you, I would greatly appreciate it. How much did this end up costing you by the end of it?

I'm a little confused though. I also have a Lexus w/ push button start. Mine works very similar to yours w/o remote start but I only have to push the button rather than push hand hold for 5 sec. Did you program the 5 sec. push? If so why did you choose such a long interval? I also have to touch the door handle in order for it to unlock and push the button on the door to lock. I like the idea of walking up to unlock and walk away to lock.

At one time I found a pretty nice watch that would work as the fob.
