Oil pressure gauge staying at zero

Just drove to the store and back right now and during the whole ride the oil pressure gauge was stuck on zero. Usually it fluctuates with acceleration. Also I think I noticed the fan was kicking on also, not too sure what it was. And also my oil life percentage right now is at 32%. Not sure if that plays a part. Anyone experience this or know what could be going on?? Thanks fellas!

First silly question, did you check the oil?

Could be a sensor or could be the pump. The oil life gage is based on kelometers/miles and quality so it shouldnt play a roll in oil pressure.

Do you have the analog gauges on the lower console? If so, you can see if there is a difference between that and the reading on the DIC. Either way, you want to check the oil level first to ensure you have sufficient oil. IMO, a reading of zero pressure is most likely a faulty oil pressure sensor, but there is a possibility you have a failure at the pump. I'd say this is less likely if you made it back from the store without seizing up your motor....

Gotta be the sending unit. If the pump had gone out and you actually had zero pressure, you wouldn't have made it to the store, much there and back.

K so I just brought it into my mechanic. He said he suspects it’s the sending unit also. Thanks for your feedback everyone!! I will post again with further updates. If anyone cares lol

Yep. Either the pump works or it does not. And with yours fluctuating...........Could also be a bearing but very, very not likely

Check pressure manually. Known for pump failures. Put a Melling in it. It's pretty easy to do.

Faulty gauge/wiring.
If it was the sender you would have a warning on the dash.

My experience with no oil pressure several years ago in a Corvette was that you don't need a MIL to tell you, the engine will, very clearly.

Bold move to continue driving with zero pressure indication. Could make for some expensive beernuts.
