V8 springs and sways on a v6
I did a search, didnt see anything. Point me in the right direction if there's already a thread.
Is it possible to put a set of springs and sways from a v8 on a v6? I know that the sways will mount up with the proper mounts and bushings but I'm not sure if the SS springs will work with the v6 coilovers. Or should I just go with an aftermarket set? I figure SS take offs would be a low cost upgrade to my suspension. |

Me thinks if it were me, I'd go aftermarket. The Eibach Pro-Plus Kit is pretty reasonable @ just over $400.

Why would you want to do that, the V8 springs are around $40 each which you can spend at least another $40-50 and get the eibach springs. The sways are like $100 a piece.
Trust us you are better off going aftermarket. |

Ok disregard. Got a comparison of the parts from both cars, not much differn't. That's all I wanted.

see post #21 Drop vs stiffer ride - I used to do a lot of off roading and one of the tricks we used was taller firmer springs to get more clearance and preserve road driveability. It appears that the V8 swap into the V6 gets you a firmer spring with little change to ride height. George

The SS Sway Bars are the same OE Part number as the V6's from what I have been told. I don't know about the springs.

The sway bars on the FE2 package (V6 cars) and the FE3 package (V8) are both different sizes. V6 owners could potentially see a small increase in handling capability with a set of V8 bars, but it's a VERY small increase.

You would have to swap springs, sways, shocks and struts to feel a difference. Doing springs or sways alone will not do much.

Wow this thread is old. I'm surprised someone posted something. Swapped for the fe3 package along time ago.

Its better than the FE2 setup. Nothing night and day but still better. What made the most improvement was a set of your Street I bushing inserts.
