Amazon Goodyear Supercar 3r 305/30/19 Deal

Just thought I'd put this out there while the deal lasts, $344 for tires that are normally $400. They arrived today with 2021 week 50 manufacture dates. They were just left outside the house, so be careful that a Gen 6 ZL1 1LE or Porsche owner doesn't steal them!

I have no affiliation with the seller and I'm not Jeff Bezos.

Nice, thanks for sharing. May snag a set because that’s what I have on my Z now and I was at about 1/2 tread last year. They are good tires, real smooth, but go quick!

Love these tires!!!

If you're a USAA member they are buy 4 get one free but you have to pay $99 for mount and balance which isn't bad either.

What is the tread wear rating? I'm for a set of tires for street/autocross (200 tread wear)

They're rated at 100, on my old care I used the Michelin Cup 2 track connect and they had a treadwear rating of 240. I was however under the impression you couldn't compare treadwear between brands.

The 3R is not an autox tire. It needs lots of heat for grip, it's a great road course tire.

Be aware of the load rating on those. Are you guys concerned about that at all?

Correct, the tire Load Index and Load Range. OEM for 2014-15 Z/28 is (102Y) XL. The Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3R referenced in this thread is (98Y) SL. XL = Extra Load, SL = Standard Load.

I was curious if you guys are concerned about replacing your OEM specified 102 XL with a reduced strength 98 SL tire?

I ran the 305/30-19 (and 325/30-19) 3R on my '14 SS 1LE on street and track and had zero problems. Send it!

98Y load index = 1653lbs
102Y load index = 1874lbs

Multiply the above by 4 to achieve your load capacity. 98Y has been fine for me but not OEM recommendations. These were TPC spec so designed to GM's specific requirements likely for the ZL1 1LE 6th Gen.

Tire store guys don't want to install a tire that is not greater than the OEM load index, but I think that is just to sell tires. I wonder what the load index is on a drag skinny because the last time I was at the track I saw a gen4 pull a 4 ft wheelie and one would think that is a pretty stressful load when that thing came back down.

Thanks Gouki, I am aware of the lbs math on the 98 vs 102 but there is more to it than that...the dry weight of the car is easily understood but how much weight/force is being applied to the tire during performance driving in situations that we know this car is capable of, like >1.0 G cornering. Also consider the XL vs SL difference, and the fact the that the XL has reinforced internal structures and stronger sidewalls compared to the SL.
