Beginner Mods

Hello all,

I've owned my 16 2SS M6/NPP/MRC for about 13 months now, and I've decided to do some minor upgrades. I am new to this so I have a couple questions I wanted to ask. Ive decided to go with Kooks long tube headers with OEM high flow catted connection pipe. This option comes in 1 7/8" and 2". Which is the better option? There isn't much of a big price difference. Also with the catted options, what is the difference between the OEM catted connection pipes and the GREEN catted connection price. These are about $500 in difference, is the GREEN option worth it? I live in Illinois, Cook County for reference.

I've also decided to go with a Cold Air Inductions Cold air intake. If there are some better options than these or other recommendations to start with I'd greatly appreciate it.

1 7/8. A 2" header would cost you some power without added some big power adders.
Green cats prevent CELs. I would suggest a tune. They can tune out the chances of CELs .
Save money money on the cats and use it for a tune.
Getting it tuned with headers and a CAI will net you maximum benefit of adding those mods.
I would go with Roto-fab.

Would the GREEN cats allow me to pass emissions? Plan on getting a tune, but wouldn't this set up cause me to fail emissions testing because of CEL?

With headers you'll want a tune and they can take care of the CEL, 1 7/8" is plenty of flow without power adders as mentioned above

Pretty decent beginner mod that I did was Roto-Fab CAI and Pedal Commander throttle controller. I've had them on for a few months now and I haven't had any issues with them. Slight gains plus car is much quicker off the line can't complain.

Green CATs will flow better than stock. They are worth the extra money for performance and piece of mind if you're worried about emission testing.
