Haha Trust me if I wasn't paying $500 a month in college loans I'd have no problem with sticking with the 2ss rather than contemplating the 1ss. Car insurance for me will be roughly $205 a month. I'm putting down about $15k so that means my monthly payments will be roughly $400 something. I'm trying to get my monthly payments as low as possible so I can try and have a life to enjoy the camaro. I probably won't mod it much other than a CAI and a tune. We shall see though I'm concerned about the mods just yet.

Get what you know is affordable to you! You won't enjoy a 2SS as much if you feel like the payment is killing you 6 months down the road, even if it's only $65 more each month.

I like my gadgets and Bluetooth iPhone as much as the next guy as really like the nostalgic look of the 4 pod guage console. Trying to decide if it is worth the extra coins.

Please let me know your thoughts. I currently work 2 miles from home, if I still worked 60 plus miles away I think I could justify it.

Thanks!
I love my gadgets as well. Which is why I would opt for the 2LT V6. So I can get the styling, and the gadgets together. If I didn't care about technology, I would spring the extra dough for the 1SS, But my car may never make it to the track. So it's a non issue to me.

After putting tons of thought into it my budget allows me for a 2LT RS new or wait and buy a used 2SS used. After hearing what a 2LT sounds like i have to have the v8 rumble or ill never be happy although the v6 motor is awesome. So 2011 is what im hoping for to buy a good used 2SS. I think the release of the Z28 should make lots of guys turn in there 2SS.

I don't regret getting my 1SS. I'd rather have the V8 than a loaded V6. Besides the only things I wanted from the 2SS were the 4 pack gauges and USB port which I plan to add later anyways.

i see a lot of people saying they are saving 4k or 3k for the 1ss and adding aftermarket stuff later... let me put it this way. im getting a 2ss and im done. i know if i got a 1ss and wanted to add stuff later i wouldnt have time or effort to do it so i might as well get the 2ss and be happy and done. but if you do have the time, effort, and enjoyment of modding and adding stuff then a 1ss would be great.

would of been happy with either---GT 500 in the garage as a result. Ordered a 2SS Nov 2008---to date, still at 3000 with a dealer estimated production date south of October, 2009. Dumped the order for new GT 500--- only waited 9 weeks for the GT to be made!!!!!! Sorry Camaro buyers.. :(

1. Most of the seat is not leather. Many of the items that are "leather" are not like the armrest.

2. ABL is cool but can live without it

3. Gauges is something you can always add later via aftermarket or OEM.

I would get a 1SS and use the 3k to mod the car but thats just me.

I'm happy with my 1SS/RS. I would have liked to have been able to order the 4 pack gauges from the start...and all Camaros should have come with the cargo net as well. But that's really about it.

I'm in Florida..Heated mirrors and Leather seats aren't necessary and I don't want to be taking care of leather..Plus its too hot over here.. I might buy the 4 pack gauge later on and upgrade the panels to full ambient lighting later on if its offered. I don't need the connectivity stuff either..

The sound system and technology and leather seats were enough for me to choose the 2SS. I was happy to know even more options came with that package like the lighting and cooler looking hood. So a 2SS is the way to go, imo.

Ill be honest with you, if you're hurting for money then by all means go with the 1SS...You'll still turn heads and have all the power you want.

But if you CAN, then you SHOULD get the 2SS. Heres why:

1. Leather just looks nice and screams classy. I hate the way it feels, but thats just me
2. the C&C package is SOOO underrated. I am surprised JUST HOW MUCH i use it and love it. Especially if you happen to have an iPod; otherwise thumbdrive will work as well
3. the ambient lighting is a froo-froo item, but im telling you at night it sets a mood of - well - ambiance. lol
4. The 4 pack gauges really complete the interior center console

That been debated on what will last longer. As for how either will look after 100K miles, that just depends on the whether the owner cares for the car or is just a slob. I've only had cloth interior cars, and they always look great years down the road and I don't have to condition it regularly either.

Oh and let me get this straight... you were shopping for used vehicles for your wife with 100K+ miles?? I'm guessing you are sleeping on the couch right?

I'm not huge into gadgets so the bluetooth and USB weren't important either, I can still hook up my ipod. Steering wheel controls are nice but when you are sitting in the car the radio controls are well within reach. I did add the RS package 'cause the halos were way too cool to pass up. Get what ever turns your crank, if it's the 2SS, just save up a little longer 'til you can afford it.
ditto
