Putting in 3:91's and gear whine.

I know with my GTO, most guys that have moved to 3:91's, gear whine is a problem. Is it the same with Camaro's?

not even readin the post(remember ur on the ignore list) either your backlash is off or the crush collar was not set properly. provided you did use synthetic gear oil these have to be the problem unless the bearings were/are f's too?

I will take the first step because like I stated before, I like to help peeps when possible and since I have direct hands on experience with the item you are havin a prob with....if you PM me with basically a bye gones be bye gones (don't need no f@*kin apology!) message let's just put this sh!t behind us and I will un-ignore and see how close I was and what we can do to get this fixed ASAP! peace

Lol, why bother putting them on your ignore list if you're not going to ignore them?

He asked if 3.91s whine, he doesn't have them or a problem at this time.

Whining is always a set up problem* in a diff. With the exception of defective bearings, gears, but that is pretty rare.

*pinion depth, side to side on the ring carrier, etc.

how does one make the ignore list and...how do you know who's on it?

Pinion depth is more than likely off. I would correct this as it will put unwanted wear on your ring and pinion over time.

I have a little noise with my 4.10 when I have it right at the perfect no-load point where I'm not accelerating or decelerating. I did go to a solid bushing so some noise was to be expected.
