There are maybe 100 Z/28 available for sale from all indications. Only about 250 cars have been delivered, and of those, most are probably sold.
So it's kind of Z/28 specific. Only Z/28 buyers are shopping for the limited number of units available.

Why put the car on the showroom without the splitter? I know it may be a PITA to move it around with the splitter installed, but you're trying to grab attention and sell the car.

 I just saw my first one here in San Diego. Bob Stahl Chevrolet, marked up $5000. over MSRP. Black fully loaded. Beautiful car but if I was going to spend that kind of money I would buy a Corvette instead. Just my opinion.
