Camaro repainted
Hello everyone, i have one question...
The new Camaro 2014 is for me pretty ugly (in my opinion) and i want to buy a two years old used camaro. If i buy the Camaro for example in red, can i repainted the red camaro to this camaro with stripes in a workshop? http://i41.tinypic.com/nys41h.jpg |

Why not just buy a gray camaro instead of red? Then you wont have to paint it, you can just have vinyl stripes added on.

Oh okay i understand what you mean. If you dont care about losing value for having the car repainted because the color wont match the numbers on the car. A full paint job here would be around $5000+ for a decent paint job

If he's buying a red Camaro he'll need to do the door jambs, engine bay, etc. I'd say $10 grand easy.

Yeah I'd say $10,000 easy, just because painting the entire car has a lot more to it then what it may seem. Like someone above said, you have to paint the engine bay, door jams, and every little crevice of the car. I'd say go with a wrap, it is reversible, and it protects the original paint.

And door jambs are the inside part of the door frame So say you didn't paint them, every time you opened the door you'd see red paint (just using red as an example). |

simply not true.. The value of the vehicle has nothing to do with it's color, these are not limited production, limited color $100K exotic vehicles.. While there are limited color production models like the Transformer, and some ZL-1 and 1LE colors, overall for any run of the mill LS/LT/SS changing the color will not affect the overall value of the vehicle. I have changed the color of several vehicles I have owned and never seen any affect in value for resell or trade, and if you do a dramatic change like from Red to Black, all you need to do is go to your DMV and update the vehicle registration records to reflect the new color (at least in CA)..
