You don't say. Pretty sure you missed all my prior posts, including the very one you quoted, where I mentioned it was a SEMA car. Congratulations on having seen a Shock colored Camaro in production trim prior to the one I posted. I hadn't seen one. I thought it was noteworthy that the debut of the Shock color was on a SEMA car that could not be purchased as shown. |

I don’t see how anyone could look at the two side by side and not think the concept car is better looking.

I would go out on a limb and say they probably chose the SS because of the base price. I'm sure it's a very expensive package to add and there would be a lot less sold if the base price was a ZL-1. But I agree, from an enthusiast stand point the ZL1 would have been a better starting point.

Contracting and licensing restrictions.
I can guarantee you anyone purchasing a Yenko isn't concerned about price. The drivetrain, diff, axles, susp and trany are arguably the only potential reason to start with a ZL1, but they aren't using a GM blower if I read correctly.

A rumored replacement for the V8 6.0 HD truck engine supposed to be a 400 cubic inch (6.6 ltr) V8 from the article below at gmauthority.

So what is the real reason for not just using the 6.2 in the HD? Is it b/c they don't want all that AFM and other fuel efficiency "stuff" in their work horse engine?

Aluminum block and higher compression ratio are probably some of the more likely reasons for the 6.2 not being used for HD duty.

The Shock concept press release makes it sound like the stuff is a sure thing.

But later it says "also features concept styling".

I find it a bit odd, as my 6.2 does great towing.
