Correct me if I am wrong but I read where the 0 to 60 and 1/4 mile numbers are slightly better with the automatic plus I live near Atlanta and the traffic is awful. It was a no brainer. Automatic over Manual.

First, daily driver in slow highway/secondary traffic for the commute. Second, back in May, only 2LT RS in my area was my SIM A6 so rather than wait on an order (which given GM bankruptcy at the time couldn've been a wait of months if not quarters) I jumped on it. No regrets.

The autos do have a better 60 ft they're not having to slip the clutch to leave the line like a stick car. However 8 out of the top 10 stock cars are sticks! Including the top bolt on car. I wanted a car that when you get in was different than my daily driver automatic. Plus being an auto car everyone can drive it but not a stick car.

Boston traffic + manual driving = headache
plus...i haven't drivin stick in a while and i wouldn't wanna ruin the transmission on such a beautiful car...two headaches less for me

Two reasons.
There are times that my wife has to drive the car. While she drove a manual a while back in her life. I didn't think this was the car to ger skills back. Second, this driver occasionally has a bad "wheel" so the automatic is easier to drive with one good leg. |

Catch me if you can

I had a 66 GTO that had a standard on it. Talk about a tough learning curve on that car, but once I was able to do it I never looked back. All my performance cars have had a standard...It's the only way to drive if you really want to feel in control of the car.

I don't like to row. Some people love to row. Personal preference.
Besides, the automatic has those fun paddle-shifters for the times I want to fiddle with gears. By the way, YES, I can drive a manual and have done so many times. I just prefer automatic. |

Tough one for me, but living in Coral Springs now, after living in UK and owning Manuals til moving here. the number of lights limits the fun factor of a manual.
However, after 3 mths it does tug at the heart strings to get a manual.....Perhaps next trade time. Its not a daily driver. |

You get better fuel economy with a stick 3. You’ll never look like a chump if you can drive stick 2. Manual transmission cars are faster 1. Women like a guy who is good with his hands. |

Ive had both auto. and sticks. I liked the stick but I too am getting older and as it is my daily driver and I plan to keep it forever... the auto just made more sense. It is still fun to drive.
