Minimum Temp For Dropping the Top

So, I live in Michigan and getting Spring fever. We had a couple of days here recently where it got above 6 degrees. I saw a whole lotta verts (various makes) on the road with their tops down. My personal rule is that it has to be at least 70 degrees outside to drop the top. I'm curious to hear everyones opinion on how warm it has to be before you put your top down???

I don't have a convertible but 6 degrees seems to be a bit cold to me...I'm in TN and I've seen people with their roofs down at various temps, even when I've had my heat on...So if their it's all good...

I won't put the top down unless its at least in the high 60's or 70 and FEELS warm.

The other thing to be careful of with our convertibles: if it's been sitting out during rain, snow and freezing temps, is to allow for a few warm days so any water in the drainage bags and tubes or inside the fender has a chance to melt and run off before putting the top down and possibly damaging any components.

Depends on the time of year, I'm in Chicago so this time of year 60 feels warm and we even hit 70 a couple weeks ago, but by July I would be freezing my ass off if I dropped the top in 60 degree temps.

I believe he meant 60 degrees, not 6 , lol. I will do it on sunny days in the spring around the 70 degree mark. Sometimes I will just go cruise slowly with the heat on. But to be comfortable it needs to be about 75 or above.

On two wheels, it's 40 degrees for me. Below that, it hurts. In a vert, you have heat! Get some fresh air!

OK, my standard rule has always been 70 and even 70 can be cool in WI, But I must say I have had the top down with the heater on and on occasion with the A/C on. I have seen people here in WI with there tops down and windows up in the 40"s and 50"s. If you can't put the windows down why have the top down? The wind blowing, the smell of diesel trucks going down the highway. I have to wait for it to be warm again here in WI. Just my 2 cents

I didn't buy a convertible to drive with the top up. If it rains, I take my other car. But I have had top down from 42 to 106 above.

70 degrees is the minimum limit here in Phx. It's a dry heat, LOL. Top down, windows up is a weak look, imho.
