Help me decide on build...

I am thinking of purchasing a Livernois 419 or a TSP resleeved LS3 454. Which would you do for the money? This is not a race car. Just a street beast.

Is there a reason behind this? Or just personal preference? I talked to Livernois about the 419 with a 2c camshaft. I think he is giving me a good deal. Might get the PRC heads? Would this make a good street combo? I was thinking maybe the 3c, but don't want to move my torque curve to high in the RPM. Thoughts?

224 236 seems ultra small for 419ci+ build. I'd def look at a bigger one. PRC are good for the money but again what kind of PRC heads? Ls7 ,LS7 custom?

I would go with LS7 heads and ported MSD at the minimum with custom cam for it. It would beat your 2c idea by at least 100hp imo(just throwing out numbers but it could be more lol).

Cnc LS3 heads and a custom intake would work too. LS3 intake will become a big restriction with your stroker.

The TSP 427 uses a brand new 7.0 block! No resleeves or funky crap. The 7.0 makes great power if paired with awesome heads and the right cam.

What are you trying to do with the car? Keeping in NA? What is your budget?

Stay away from Livernois, stick with TSP.

Hey man thanks for bringing this up as a topic. Now if you want to use a new block of course we can. Now it will effect overall price but we can build to your budget. My name is Jake call me at 313-561-5500 ext 126. We can discuss whatever build you would like and just so everyone knows we are having specials all month with a 1000$ off any shortblock we have assembled in the shop. Thanks guys

ZZ just curious as to why you say stay away from Livernois. I’ve never heard anything bad about them, but then again I don’t hear everything mentioned. Thoughts

Many people don't know this, but we stay away from the LS7 block and stock sleeves because it's actually the weakest block/sleeve in the entire Gen4 engine family. Just research LS7's with cracked sleeves, it's very commonplace. A sleeved 5.3/6.0/6.2 is superior in almost every way beyond bragging rights.

Jake, I actually talked to Dave yesterday. But I forgot to ask as many questions as needed. He did send me a quote for an assembled short block with cam and chain installed. But, I forgot to mention keeping VVT among other things. To keep costs down, at least for now, I am thinking of sticking with my heads and having them reworked. Same with the intake manifold. I think I will send that off for rod mod/porting. Thanks

Staying NA. This will just be a street beast. I don't track it. I just don't want to put it back together and a month later regret something.

Check your PM's.

Katech 416 is what i'd go.

Yes we have specials to get your heads redone. 999$ send us your core's clean with valves and we can do a cnc valve job with a spring upgrade kit. Now Dave will be at PRI for the week so I can try to answer your questions.
