Setting up a Mystery Meal Cruise for 16 or 23 July. I'd like to fit it in as early as we can before the AZ All Gen cruise up Mt Lemmon on 13 Aug. I'll send out an invite to everyone on the club list once the details are complete. Post or PM me which date works best for everyone.

Question: Any way to get swirl marks off of my stripes? They look like shit... :(

Best fix;

Take them off and have the stripes painted on.

The problem is the vinyl stripe is softer than the paint and clear coat. What's normally good for the paint may cause more damage to the vinyl (as you've witnessed). You can try Macquire's Step 1 Body Polish, or another very fine polish. Whatever you use, test in a small area first, and work lightly in a straight line. No orbital buffers!

Any recommendations for where to get them painted on? And how much that might cost me? Honestly, my car looks terrible with the way the stripes look now, every time I see my car I feel sick to my stomach.

To take off the swirls try just using some detailing spray or the wax you use on your paint. The swirls are caused when you wash or get your car washed. Always go back and forth, never go in circles when washing, or waxing. If they are really bad, go to the dealer, they are covered under your warranty. Mine still look fine, painted ones look better, but I will keep mine until the warranty is done

I forgot, you can try Claybaring it too, it's not a bad idea to Claybar your whole car once a year and rewax. You can Claybar your windows too, it takes the water spots off

. You can it at any Auto store, or Walmart. Meguiar's is the one you can buy at the stores, they are red. I like Jax Wax's claybar it's white, you can see the stuff coming off your paint.

I have clear bra from The Specialist at the Tucson Automall location. Not home right now so I don't have the price or specifics of the material they used. I'm sure it was not 3M. Price was higher than some, but they did a great job and have fixed some minor problems free of charge. Did the entrire front end, mirrors, door cups, sides up to 1/4 inch above the door line, and rear quarter panel. Not show car worthy, but I am completely happy. Zero door dings or ships since Nov 2010.. They also did my tint and I am pleased with that too.

I'm actually going to post pictures hopefully tomorrow. I believe they happened after getting my car washed at Octopus Car Wash. They are the only people who have hand washed the car. If I use an automated car wash, its touchless. Not sure a claybar would work, so I'll try and post some pictures tomorrow and have ya'll take a look.

I had my car waxed at octopus too and they left the wax on the stripes and got sun baked on the car. All i did to get them out was re-wax the stripes and wipe off the new wax and it came out. I am taking my car down to this place in green valley called duval paint and body and getting my stripes painted on now.

Classic Car Spa is the only hand washed carwash in Tucson , that I know of, they do a ok job.
