First off Ferrari NEVER built a production convertible Testarossa. They built just 1 and it was a prototype. Secondly, all testarossa's were mid engined 12 cylinders. This guy is a complete idiot for not even thinking of investigating the car at ALL.

I did however see 1 convertible in My area that was for sale that the owner had made into a convertible. He even listed it on ebay and could not even sell it for the $65,000 asking price. He eventually traded it in at central Florida ferrari and they only gave him $32,000 for it as he substantially depreciated the car by chopping off the roof. They said it was proffessionally done, but still it ruins the value of the car. The sales guys at ferrari of central Fl offered me the car at $45,000 and i said hell no.

6 more beers and I'd fall for it. Maybe 8 more.

Exactly my thoughts. If the interior wasn't obvious enough, the a-pillar and unproportional rear 1/4 panel was a dead giveaway. Ferrari wouldn't make a rear look that bad.

Whats worse with some of these cars is the 80's/90's white trash "muscle car" wheels people put on them as well.

I don't feel one bit bad for this guy. He had the presence of mind to be able how to figure out how to buy a car on ebay, Googling an image of a Ferrari Testarossa and realizing that heap isn't even close should not have been an issue.

I actually thought of this when I saw the title of this thread. Very good F50 clone based on a 4th gen trans am. Sold for $40k IIRC.

Looks good? Maybe from a Helicopter really really high up!

Some fakes are a lot of fun to look at...they just are never on four wheels!
