Mystery LS1

I have a 2002 slp 35th aneversery ss t tops 6
Basicaly i bought from a gm dealer here
In winnipeg . It has alunimun harmonic
Balancer and a 6.5 quart oil sump. Head are
241. Basically it the fastest car i ever drivin
It will pull hard past 6000 rpm . I am the
Original owner . I have done no mods to it
Any body had any idea what under the hood?
It not a LS1 as it easy out run a LS1 and it vibrates
Like it had a can in it. Plugs would foul if u let it
Idle very long

Did you confuse LS1 with ZL1? You're in a section where you'll probably receive no help. I'd try a 4th gen section.

You can tell buy the casting numbers, if its an ls1. You could also get a cylinder camera and check the pistons to see if they match with an ls1 piston or if they are aftermarket. As far as a cam goes, pull of the timing equipment off and look at the front of the cam, usually aftermarket companies have some type of engraving on their cams.

Where would i find the casting # ?
There is no # on the block where the
Manual say it belongs?

All LS blocks should have the block displacement casted on front and rear of the block on the cylinder bank. Is the throttle body a 3 bolt or 4 bolt?

With 241 heads and a 3 bolt TB, its definitely looking like an LS1.

never seens a LS engine with aluminum balancer. There should be casting on drivers rear of block around where head is. SLP pretty much did bolt ons - exhaust, air intakes, hoods/spoilers and wheels
