Seriously dude? It's part of the RS package... Body color roof ditch molding. It is in the description of the package.

So what if the previous owner painted them black?

From Chevrolet Build Your Own:

SS Coupe with the RS Package, including:
• 20" painted aluminum wheels1 in mystery-enhancing Midnight Silver, measuring 20" x 8" in front and 20" x 9" in rear.
• High-intensity discharge headlamps, each ringed with an LED halo, giving your coupe the look of a living predator.
• Body-color Roof ditch molding for a subtle but distinctive styling detail.
• Shark-fin antenna is body-color with this package.

THIS!

I think we have gone off track and the OP is a tad testy, I guess I'd be too if I got sold an RS that isn't but whatever... The car is sweet.

Take off the black out head light covers and it will be much brighter.

One more question.... Your headlight switch... Does it have a button in the center?

I downloaded his photo and played around with it in Lightroom. He does have the HID's. I agree the tint is probably dimming his light output some.

Edit: After zooming in on his roof ditch molding it is silver. Looks black near the front of the car and turns silver as you follow it back because shadow from the sun.

Does it look like this: fog light button in middle:

Or like this (minus the gold ring) no button?

Top picture is NOT an RS, bottom is.

Of course this is changeable too. Just a easy way to tell. If you have the button, it's not an RS.

Of course, you can just look for the RPO on the code sticker but that's too easy.

They didn't start color coding untill 2011 or 2012... I think it was 2012. Here is mine, silver ditch, black antenna.

Have your local chevy dealer run your vin for an options list, it costs nothing, takes only a minute, and will settle this dispute. I bought mine used with 4000 miles on it, and wanted to know exactly what options it had. My list was 2 full pages long.
