Excellent question. I would like to see the recommended tire setup for that kit.

Yes. Cause it's not available. It is a restricted part available to Z/28 owners only. CTSV brakes will be plenty of upgrade for me.

Glad I got the Recaros when I did. I can't live without them and would be butthurt if I waited for these soon to be prices
...
I'm in the market for headers and CAI and I'll just wait for the prices to be revealed. I'd love to keep my warranty and have these parts warranted thru GM. It's a win-win for me.

The aftermarket does a good job of supplying alternatives to OEM parts....Now the same R&D and testing is not applied in the aftermarket, but if the price point for OEM surpasses that of quality aftermarket pieces most consumers will look to the aftermarket.

My predictions: (no basis, just guesses)

Intake: $500 (Too many proven alternatives to set the price any higher)
Z/28 Suspension Package: $3500 (Good coil overs can be had at this price)
Recaro Z/28 seats: $1799 each (No competition for a seat with airbags, but race minded individuals can get a good Recaro race seat installed for less)
Z/28 Manifolds: $750 (again, too much competition out there to price them any higher and expect them to sell.)

Matt
Good coilovers can be had at that price, well kind of but honestly very few if any suspension manufacturers valve their coils good enough for the Camaro as GM does. Not many are going to be a good match for ours cars at 160 mph.

By continuously adjusting the torque bias, this differential maximizes available traction for faster lap times. The kit also includes the 3.91 axel ratio and integrated heat exchanger in the cover.
Very interesting option: Speedometer calibration would be needed and not sure if computer changes required for ABS integration. Would like to see dragstrip time difference between stock rear ratio and the 3.91. Available with automatics?

one thing to consider about the header package is im sure they would have to tune it and you will get to keep the gm warranty.
I know at least that's the only thing holding me back from buying an aftermarket set.
with only 1200 miles on my car im hesitant on buying a set and having to tune and something going bad on me so early.

Exactly! They are both inferior to the aftermarket components and they'll cost more too. GM Factory components=$$$

I don't believe the reasoning that article cites. There's several z/28 parts I'd like for my '12 1SS.

But when they report that restricting parts is to prevent clones so as to "protect their customer's investments", that's nothing but bullshit in my opinion.

Let's say that a guy with a 2014 Camaro SS makes a "perfect" z/28 out of his SS. His 8th VIN position will not read "E". It will read "J" or "W": that SS didn't come with an LS7 from the factory and the VIN will report that. Selling that clone as a z/28 is fraud. Falsifying or changing the VIN is also fraud. Somebody will tell me I don't know what I'm talking about. OK, fine. Selling a clone '69 z/28 as a real z/28 is fraud too. Purposeful misrepresentation for unlawful gain. Either would have to be sold as a clone, using it's actual model designation, not the cloned designation. So protecting the customer's investment? I don't think so.

What GM is doing is just reinforcing exclusivity- keeping demand high and generating comment among it's target audience, while protecting GM's investment by stopping people from buying a used SS and making a low-buck z/28 for themselves. It's not altruism by GM, it's simply looking out for #1. That's a sound business move but I don't beleive it's for the customers' benefit for a millisecond.

I'd be interested in the CAI... and to Chevrolet Performance Parts crew:you need 2 things to accompany this -a TUNE calibration if needed and full backing of the cars warranty -you need to make that obvious
